When Family Can't Fill the Gap: Why You Need Professional Home Watch

So where did we get our inspiration to form Eagle Eye Home Watch? Well, actually from experiences close to home. Many stories we have heard over the years from friends of ours helped us come to realize that there was a need for a trusted reliable home watch service in Eastern Massachusetts.

Let me share one such story. It is a true story that occurred several years back, only the names have been altered for privacy.

A good friend of mine, Caitlyn, would watch over her parents home while they were in Florida for the winter. They would leave in the late Fall and return the following Spring after Easter. She had been watching over their house and property for five or six years, checking to make sure all was in order while they were away.

This worked well for a few years, and she was able to be over at the house once a week to check the thermostat and property. One weekend in late March, however, Caitlyn’s 2 children came down sick with the flu. She and her husband also got hit by it right afterwards, and she was not feeling up to run over to her parents’ home as she naturally would. Figuring everything was usually fine anyhow, she decided to wait until the following week.

When she arrived to check on the house the following week, she noticed a strange odor upon entering from the front door. As she proceeded up the stairs to the living room a mess awaited her. Something had apparently got into the home…

The curtains to the living room were ripped in several places, and 2 of the picture frames on the wall had been knocked ajar. In the kitchen, things had been knocked over on the counters and the cabinets had been opened. After checking the bedrooms and dining room as well, it appeared nothing had been taken.

Finally, as she checked in the bathroom, she found the culprit. On the side of the toilet, near the wall, lay the decomposing body of a gray squirrel! It had been dead for over a week at that point and had produced a pungent scent that permeated the home. She fixed everything up that the rodent had disturbed, but the smell required her to hire a professional cleaning service.
