Plants

I love plants. My home always needs to have something green growing inside it. It is a constant reminder of nature. Of course, I need to be careful what type of plants I have inside…my cat has been known to try on dine on any green leaves it sees. But I always do my research to make sure whatever I grow inside is safe to have around her. And, as an extra layer of defense, I also set it up high above any area accessible to her.

During the outdoor growing months, I am always sure to have a variety of veggies and flowering plants growing. In like a variety of both. The useful and edible vegetables (I prefer carrots, radish and beans) and the colorful flowers to warm your soul.

Taking care of these plants does require diligence and planning. As the weather goes from warm to hot, you need to secure shade for the ones that need it, while making sure there is abundant sunshine for those that thrive better in that environment. And, of course, watering them properly is vital. The veggies need plenty of water to support the growth of their fruit, while most of the flowers need a bit less.

If you have plants that make your life a little happier, you will want to have them cared for while you are away.
